EXODUS CURRENT PROJECTS AND NEEDS

As a GOD VISION, we are a project of FAITH and we shall not be afraid to dream big for the sake of the many Children coming into light, freedom and personal discovery. We have the following current programs and projects that we are trust the Lord for funds and kindly contact the matron Pastor Mukonda M. Banda if you are led to support the cause and for those in USA, kindly let us know if you need a tax receipt for your donation.

Kid’s Playing fields

We are working on putting in place exercise and playing fields in the following areas (Netball, Soccer, basketball and Volleyball). We have our own land that we can use for all these. It is our desire to see the kids explore and experience sporting activities as part of their talent development and much more of the emotional healing journey.

Kids Skills Lab

Part of our mission is to help Children discover themselves and promote their talents in various areas. We look forward to having a sizable skills lab with a focus on Music, Tailoring, Computer, Fishing, Agriculture and other areas that might be interesting to the Children.

Poultry Project

we are embarking at self-sustaining programs and chicken production is one of our main avenues to raise funds to enable us to support more kids. With every successful production, monies will be raised to help add more kids to the Orphanage and to take care of the various needs of our Children.

Wall fence Project

We are trusting the Lord for funds to be able to fence only the housing area for kids for further safety and protection as well as for monitoring purposes.

Water (Well or Bole Hole) Project

We seek to add another water system (Bore hole) to enable us to have sufficient water for agricultural purposes and for the community to access to supplement the existing for various needs of the orphanage.

Container Project

This project is a yearly project where we collect donations of items for kids (clothes, beddings, sportswear, toys, shoes, learning tools, specific furniture, school supplies, kids learning books (math, English, Science, reading, drawing, hardware, home utilities etc.). We do this through various partners and friends in the USA and these donations are given to Children at Exodus Children’s Home and those Children we provide care for in the community.

Exodus Community Outreach

All our kids come from the various communities and that’s where we find our purpose. All our Exodus kids will be integrated back into community when they exit Exodus. Our children community outreach takes us to nearby villages targeting specific schools carrying out feeding programs, kid’s camp, and life transformation programs for children of Grades 1-7 especially those coming from critically impoverished families. We help community Children with school uniforms, food and other material support.

Need to complete Housing Units 3 and 4

We are at the final stages of the completion of the remaining houses unit 3 and unit 4. Unit 3 only requires electricity fittings, installation a connection.

EXODUS PRESENT FACILITIES

CHILDREN HOUSING – Units 1 and 2

Housing Units 1 and 2 are occupied by our first set of Children. All of them are settled and attending a nearby school.

STORAGE BUILDING

We have a storage building that is partitioned in three sections for the storage of household goods, agriculture products and utilities/chemicals/tools.

POULTRY HOUSES

We have two completed Poultry houses and a third one yet to be completed. These represents the vision of income generating for sustainability purposes. The chicken production business is for supplementing food for the Children and for raising extra funds to sponsor other programs.

GUARD HOUSE

We have a 3m X 4m (12m2) guardhouse for security purposes as well as to be used by the caretaker for the protection of the facilities.

FISHPONDS

As part of our plan for sustainability, we have 3 completed fishponds to allow fish farming on a consistent basis to supplement on food for the kids and for the purpose of raising funds. Currently one pond is operational containing around 2500 Tilapia breams and harvest takes place every 7 months.

CHAPEL

We thank God that we have this important building serving as a multipurpose hall. The building is used for worship and prayer services, for training of Children, for studying purposes, for various indoor activities for the Children. We also open up the building to the villagers for the purpose of ministering God’s word and spiritual activities.

MISSION HOUSE –DIRECTOR’S HOUSE

We have a mission house that serves as a house for the founders and place of residence for all visiting volunteers, missionaries and also serves as office for Exodus Children Foundation.

EXODUS FUTURE PLANS

Construction of a Community school

This is the plan to set up a block of classes each 6m X 8m (48m2) for a community school to accommodate grades 1-7.

Construction of 4 Teachers Houses

We also plan to set up 4 houses for the principal of the school and teachers to ensure there is no disruption of the learning process.

Skills Lab

This is a plan to erect a building for purpose of training kids in various kinds of skills and activities for empowerment purposes. Our focus shall be on Tailoring, Music, Computer Studies, Photography, and Hair Salon.

Sick Bay

This is a small building of about 6m X 5m (30m2) to accommodate emergencies in case of contagious illness. Sick children will quickly be separated and receive short term health care and medical attention (First Aid) before being taken to the hospital. Isolating the kids will be for the purpose of preventing disease spread in certain circumstances.

Community Clinc

There are plans to construct a clinic to cater for the community in our area.
